Payment at the Post Office
|
If you have a bank or giro account in any of the countries where we have an
account, then it's simple to pay by domestic transfer. You can also go to a post
office and ask to pay into our account, except in Denmark.
We prefer
payment in euros if you have the choice.
You will find our account details on the back of our invoices.

International Bank Transfer
International Eurogiro Transfer
|
If you don't have an account in any of
the countries where we have an account but in
another country, then you can make an international transfer.
International transfers can be very expensive or very cheap. Some of the
costs can be very will hidden. Below are some guidelines, but we will help you
at any time finding the cheapest way to transfer the money.
If you have
the choice, then we prefer receiving international transfers
into our Luxembourg account.
Because of the high cost, we do not accept international
transfers into our UK account.
All international transfers in euros within the EU must cost the same as a domestic
transfer in euros in the same bank, according to EU legislation. It is a
condition that you quote our exact account details, using the BIC and IBAN identifiers that you
will find on the back of our invoices and that you choose the option saying
that the remitter and beneficiary each pay their own costs.
All transfer fees, whether for the remitter, intermediary or
beneficiary, are at your charge and will be invoiced to you if
debited our account.
NOTES ABOUT FEES:
Before making an international transfer, you are advised to understand all
the costs, which may be made up of:
- Fee charged by your bank.
- Fee charged by an intermediary bank. This is rarely published, but a transfer
within the EU cannot attract a fee from an intermediary bank if you choose to
pay the fees for both your bank and our bank.
- Fee charged by our bank. Ask us.
- Commission for currency exchange. This is sometimes published; sometimes
not.
- Currency being exchanged at a rate that is less favourable than the market
rate. Banks rarely make you aware of that. Ask them in advance for the most recent exchange rate they applied and
compare that to the exchange rate from the same day at the European
Central Bank.
You may be able to specify whether your bank or our bank will be doing the
currency exchange. We have seen that the same transfer between the same
banks can be 3% more expensive if bank X exchanges the currency instead of bank
Y. Many banks in the United Kingdom use a less favourable exchange rate than
banks in other countries.
EUROGIRO NOTES:
Eurogiro is an alternative electronic network that in general is cheaper to
use than bank transfers. To make a Eurogiro transfer, you must hold an account in a participating
institution. When using
Eurogiro, there are no intermediary banks. All our accounts except in the UK can accept Eurogiro
transfers.
For more information about Eurogiro and to see a list of participating countries and
institutions, please go to http://www.eurogiro.com/.
